1921 – 2021 Centenary Celebrations

This year sees the Club reaches the ripe old age of 100, having first formed in 1921. Membership back then was originally comprised exclusively from the “Old Boys” of what was the Harrow County Grammar School (now Harrow High). The school spawned a number of Old Boys associations with athletics being one of many popular sports featured.

We will celebrate this year with a number of special occasions including –

  • National Athletic League ‘Home’ Fixture: Sunday 4 July

The Club is in the Premiership of the new National Athletic League, which provides competition for our elite athletes (women and men).   We are hosting a NAL fixture at the Stonex Stadium (formerly Copthall) on Sunday 4 July, branded as our Centenary ‘home’ fixture.  This should provide a feast of high quality athletics and we hope to see many members attending this event.

  • Centenary Dinner: Saturday 4 September

The club will be hosting a dinner to celebrate our centenary on Saturday 4 September at the Grange, Northwood.   Please reserve this date.   Details below, please contact Laura Alleyne for tickets.

  • Centenary Park Run: Saturday 18 September

We are asking members to participate in this ‘centenary’ Park Run in Harrow Recreation Ground at 9 a.m., as runners or supporters.

  • Commemorative booklet recording the Club’s history

The booklet will be on sale at the centenary dinner and afterwards priced £10.
