26 July 2015 – Youth Development League

As the YDL season concluded with another fourth place finish at Crawley, there was relief all round as the Upper age group team managed to stay up in Division 2 and can now start plans for consolidating on their results in 2016! As team manager Damian Nevins said:

“A big thank you to everyone who competed yesterday in wintry conditions! We stayed up – quite comfortably in the end and remain in Premier Division 2 but this would not have been possible without the mammoth effort of the squad yesterday and throughout the season!”

July 2014 – Youth Development League – Harrow

Harrow Athletic Club’s under 20 squad secured their place in Southern Premier Division Two with a solid third place in the final fixture at Bannister on Sunday, writes Tony Bush.

Ellie Chandler continued her superb season by winning the under 17 hammer with a great throw of 49.94, just shy of her recent personal best. She also placed second in the discus while Mia Springer took the pole vault with a useful 2.60 and Marella Whitfield won the 800 metres in a fast 2.16.6.

Ellen Rose-Senior starred in the under 20 age-group with a double victory, taking the 800 metres in 2.20.2 and the steeplechase with 5.55.7. Kim Osuji took the discus with a good 35.54.

Nikita Poplawski won the under 20 400 metres hurdles, with a useful 60.0, while Joseph Lister found his excellent jump of 4.35 only good enough for second in the pole vault. Dawid Cedro fared better in the under 17 vault, winning with a good 3.75′.

Meanwhile Jade Spencer-Smith set a new Club record of 11.56 in the inter-counties event in Kingston. She also won the 800 metres while Laurance Edwards ran an excellent time of 2.18.95 for second in the 800 metres.
